What is the Sakurajima Visitor Center?
The Sakurajima Visitor Center serves as a Volcano Mini-Museum and an information hub for Sakurajima tourism. It offers insights into the eruption history and mechanisms of Sakurajima. Located about a 10-minute walk from the Sakurajima Port Ferry Terminal, it is often the first stop for visitors exploring the island.
Here, you can learn about past volcanic activities as well as the "current" state of this active volcano through live cameras, real-time observation data, and daily updates on the number of eruptions.
